Andrew Moore is a fine art photographer. He is represented by three galleries, Yancey Richardson Gallery in New York, Jackson Fine Art in Atlanta, and Reflex Amsterdam in Europe. Moore is categorized under travel photographer which is what I want to do. I want to travel and photograph this world we live in. I was looking for a photographer who did travel photography, enjoyed their work, inspired me and liked their website. His work incorporates a documentary style and fine art traditions into multi-layer historical narratives. His work is very colorful and rich which is inspiring on what I can do as a travel photographer.
Andrew's website, andrewlmoore.com/, is simple and to the point. In his navigation, you have his work, publications, blog, cv and social media. There is nothing that could distract you from his work. While looking at his work, I notice that I had to click the "Next" button and couldn't use the keyboard arrows. I'm a little disappointed with that because you can't continue the experience over to the next image. It get's disrupted with scrolling down and hitting the "Next" button.
The mobile experience was the same as on the computer. The colors and fonts transferred well from a computer to mobile. What I saw on the computer, is what I saw on my phone. The images were too big for my small screen. I had to downsize them to fit, which made the navigation small. Not very phone friendly. I would have liked swiping method for the next picture, but it wasn't possible.
On a tablet, it was a wonderful experience. I could just swipe to the left and get to the next image. Once again, it was the same view from my phone and computer. Very present experience.
Both on the computer, phone, and tablet, the experience was the same. I would have preferred a different set up for the phone since it's a smaller, but otherwise I enjoyed all three experiences and the consistent set up.
I enjoyed the design. It is simple and straightforward. I didn't have trouble with it. The type is easy to read and doesn't make me feel like i'm in a law firm. The image size is just a hair too big. They could be taken down a size, for I never knew if I was viewing the whole image on either device. There is a blog on the website although it has not been updated since July 29 of this year. I wouldn't think of keeping it, if it's not updated regularly. He also has publications, which are his books and if you click on them, it takes you to Amazon so you can purchase one.He has Facebook and Instagram on his site. Just like the blog, the facebook hasn't been updated since July 29th. His instagram on the other hand has been last updated August 6 of this year. Those are the only two social medias he has shown on his website.
His audience is geared more towards galleries and people who would like to see more of his work. After going trough his website, Andrew seems pretty simple. Everything looks organized and straight forward.
